Admit it, you like me. You like me a lot. What is it about me that you like? Oh, pretty much everything: my oversize self-confidence, my relentless charm, the way I get so worked up and passionate about things—even my deep despair, and my belief that no one hurts, no one really feels sorrow, the way I do. You can't help it, you're drawn to me. And that's fine, because I am pretty fascinating. Unfortunately, new research shows that eventually you'll tire of me. Just like all the others, your initial adoration will give way to exhaustion and disdain for the way everything I do is somehow centered around me. (Why shouldn't it be? I'm amazing!) It's a sorry state of affairs, and I'll be sad to see you go, but you know what? I'm fucking awesome. I'll make new friends. Because people cannot get enough of me.

Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.
~ Alex Haley

All I can say is thank goodness for grandparents! I was left at a very scary kill shelter for a couple of weeks. My time was running out, but lucky for me, one of DRoH’s wonderful volunteers got a call from her beloved granddaughter who had heard my cries for help! She shared my sad story with her grandmother who in turn, drove a long way to rescue me! Her grandmother must have had some special stardust to sprinkle because she knew the good folks at Dachshund Rescue of Houston, who agreed that I would make a great “DRoH dachsie!”

If you’ll consider adopting me ~ I’ll bring some of that stardust to share with you!

I work with Dachshund Resuce of Houston and we currently have this little guy ready and waiting to be re-homed and adopted. He has so much energy and gets along with other dogs. He has one blue eye and one brown eye, and his big nose (named for Adrien Brody) has some pigment missing - he has attitude and energy to spare. Loves to play fetch and needs lots of exercise. If you’re serious, contact me and I’ll walk you through the 5 step adoption process.
